Finding the right accredited training for sustainable skills can be difficult. SkillSeeder has created a central place tofind land based training courses, and to get help with costs. Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption Practical TrainingFund from the Scottish Government is now open and applications can be made through SkillSeeder. Receive £500 or more towards a training course. This fund is open to anyone working in the rural sector who is looking to reduce their carbon footprint and improve sustainability for their business. Look for the Climate Change Fund badge! If you see a course listed with this badge, it's eligible for funding. A Regenerative Training fund made available from the Scottish Government will support the rural sector to reduce their carbon footprint and improve the sustainability of their business.

Launching today, 25th February 2022, training courses will all be listed on the SkillSeeder app and website, making the training easy to find in one location. Worth £400,000, the funding has been provided by the Scottish Government to support individuals from the rural sector who want to improve their skills in relation to climate change mitigation and adaption.

The fund will provide £500 or more per person towards the cost of a Climate Change training course. Forestry, land management, conservation on the farm and sustainable food production are just some of the courses available on the SkillSeeder which will be applicable for the funding grant.

SkillSeeder is the only Climate Change training course finding service available. Launched in May 2021, SkillSeeder is the go-to marketplace app and web interface for in person and online training. It is a one-stop-shop for skill seekers to find courses, workshops or 1:1 training, and allows skill sharers, whether they are professional or non-professional, to advertise their services in one place.

From today, a Climate Change Training Badge will be placed next to any relevant courses listed on SkillSeeder, making it easy for people to find the training they need to upskill. A Climate Change Training Badge toolkit will be available to download by approved training providers to use across their website and marketing materials.

'With the UK Government investing more and more in skills training, it is an exciting time for SkillSeeder to be further developing the app and web interface. A first for the land-based training industry, we are delighted to be able to bring climate change training into one place making it easy for skill seekers to search for courses which will help them to improve their knowledge and awareness of green living in their communities.'

Climate change training is essential for the green recovery and for people to have the skills needed for the new jobs that will be created. It has been recognised that undertaking these types of courses can sometimes be expensive, so the Scottish Government’s Regenerative Training Fund will ensure that climate change training courses are now available to more people.
